Working as an assistant farm manager in Canada? We are looking for an assistant farm manager for an arable farm of approximately 1600 ha, spread over 2 locations in Southern Alberta. This is a family farm that has been in existence for over 20 years. Potato cultivation is the main branch with about 600ha. This involves ware potatoes and seed potatoes. In addition, sugar beet, rapeseed for seed multiplication, wheat and barley are grown. Modern and extensive machinery including Fendt tractors and Dewulf self-propelled potato harvesters is used. Crop irrigation is done with centerpivots.
The work largely consists of supporting the owner in the area of cultivation technical matters such as assessing the crops in the field to determine, for example, irrigation, moment of crop care or application of fertilizer. You will therefore have regular consultations with the owner. In addition, you will also participate in the occurring activities. The team consists of 5 permanent employees and annually 2 to 3 trainees from the Netherlands.
Accommodation is available on the farm. And a company car can be used. You will become part of the team where the company would like you to experience a great adventure and learn new things. There is also the possibility to continue working in this position for several years if you prove to be suitable.
