Agricultural Mechanic (National & International)

International Jobs at HuizingHarvest Netherlands

Could you be our next agri mechanic?

Are you technically skilled, know your way around agricultural machines, and enjoy working on-site at various locations – both in the Netherlands and abroad? Then this is your opportunity to get hands-on with your career at HuizingHarvest.

What will you be doing?

As an agri mechanic, you’ll be working on a wide range of agricultural machines from different brands, both nationally and internationally. No two days are the same. Depending on the project, you might be involved in assembly, commissioning, modifications, or service work.

  • Assembling and working on (new) agricultural vehicles like tractors, combines, and forage harvesters

  • Testing, inspecting, and modifying machines on location

  • Providing technical support to clients (machine manufacturers, dealers, or farms)

  • Following the working methods and protocols of our clients

  • Working either on-site or from our workshop in Emmen

What do you bring to the table?

  • You’ve completed a technical education, such as agricultural engineering, agrotechnology, or mechanical engineering (or equivalent)

  • You’ve got some experience as a mechanic – internships count too, especially in the agri sector

  • You’re hands-on, solution-oriented, and quick to adapt to different machines and brands

  • You’re comfortable communicating in English; any other languages are a plus

  • You’re willing to travel internationally and have a valid driver’s license (B). Driving one of our service vans to project sites is part of the job

What can you expect from us?

  • A down-to-earth, skilled team with humor and practical know-how

  • Projects at various locations, both in the Netherlands and abroad

  • Work on a wide range of machines and brands – never the same thing twice

  • Clear guidance and plenty of room to grow

  • A company that thinks in solutions and values your contribution

  • A salary between €2.033 and €4.410 gross per month based on a 40-hour workweek, depending on your experience and skill set

Note: This position is broad and can be shaped in different ways, depending on who you are and what you bring. That’s why we don’t show a fixed salary scale. Want to know what that means for you? Just get in touch – we’ll be happy to talk it through.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. Do I need to live near Emmen?
Nope. Our team is spread across the Netherlands and even beyond. Since our projects take place throughout the country and abroad, there’s no need to live near Emmen.

2. What kind of projects will I be working on?
You’ll be involved in technical projects at factories, dealerships, and farms. It could be assembly, testing, servicing, or support work. Some projects can be repetitive, but you’ll work in different locations with various machines.

3. Do I need experience with every type of machine?
Not at all. We don’t expect you to know everything. If you’ve got technical insight and are eager to learn, we’ll guide you along the way.

4. Will I be working alone or in a team?
That depends on the project. Sometimes you’ll work solo, sometimes with HuizingHarvest colleagues, and sometimes with the client’s team.

5. What does a typical workweek look like?
In the Netherlands, you’ll usually work Monday to Friday. For international projects, the days can be longer – but that comes with extra time off during or after the project.

6. Will I be home every day after work?
That varies per project, location, and your own preferences. Some jobs require you to be away for several days; others let you sleep in your own bed at night.

7. How long will I be away for a project?
For international projects, you’ll usually be on location for 2 to 4 weeks. We’ll always discuss this with you in advance. After your shift, a colleague will take over.

8. What if I don’t want to go abroad for a while?
No problem. We always plan in consultation with you and take your wishes into account.

9. Who arranges travel and accommodation abroad?
For international jobs, we generally arrange your travel and stay. If you’re moving between multiple sites during a project, you may arrange your own lodging in coordination with us.

10. Do I need to speak English?
Yes, a good level of English is important. At HuizingHarvest, English is often the working language, and not all colleagues speak Dutch. Other languages are a bonus, but not required.

11. Can I grow within the company?
Absolutely. If you want to take on more responsibility or develop new skills, we’re happy to support you.
There’s room to grow – technically, professionally, and personally.
