Are you technically skilled, experienced with agricultural machinery, and do you enjoy working at different locations both domestically and internationally? Then this is your opportunity to build your career with HuizingHarvest.

What will you do?

Your work includes:

  • Working on (new) agricultural machines such as tractors, combine harvesters, and forage harvesters

  • Testing, inspecting, and, if necessary, modifying machines on-site

  • Providing technical support to customers (machine manufacturers, dealers, or agricultural businesses)

  • Working according to the procedures and protocols of our clients

  • Carrying out work either on-site or from our workshop in Emmen (NL)

What do you bring?

  • A completed technical education at MBO level 4 or equivalent, for example in agricultural mechanisation, agrotechnology, or mechanical engineering

  • Experience as a mechanic in the agricultural sector (internship experience is also acceptable)

  • Strong technical skills, problem-solving ability, and adaptability to different machines and brands

  • Good command of English is required; additional languages are an advantage

  • Willingness to travel internationally

  • A valid Category B driving licence, enabling you to drive one of our service vans to project locations

What can you expect from us?

  • A place in a down-to-earth, technically skilled team with humour and craftsmanship

  • Projects at various locations in the Netherlands and abroad

  • Working with machines from many different brands—offering great technical variety

  • Practical guidance and plenty of opportunities for personal and professional development

  • An organisation that focuses on solutions and where your contribution truly matters

  • A gross monthly salary between €2,033 and €4,410, based on a 40-hour workweek, depending on your knowledge and experience

Please note: This is a broad role that can be filled in different ways. Therefore, the salary depends strongly on factors such as your experience, skills, and level of commitment. Feel free to contact us to discuss what this means for you personally.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • Do I need to live near Emmen?
No, that’s not necessary. Our team is based all across the Netherlands and abroad. Since our projects are spread throughout the Netherlands and internationally, living close to Emmen is not required.
  • What kind of projects will I work on?
You will work on technical projects for manufacturers, dealers, and agricultural businesses. This may involve assembly or testing, but also maintenance or service work. Some tasks can be repetitive, but you’ll work at a variety of locations and on different types of machines.
  • Do I need experience with all types of machines?
No, absolutely not. You don’t need to know or be able to do everything from the start. If you have technical insight and the motivation to learn, we will support and guide you along the way.
  • Will I work mostly on my own or as part of a team?
That depends on the project. Sometimes you’ll work independently, sometimes together with HuizingHarvest colleagues, and at other times alongside the customer’s own team.
  • What does an average workweek look like?
This varies greatly depending on the project. In the Netherlands, you’ll usually work Monday to Friday. On international projects, working days may be longer, but this is balanced with time off—either during or after the project.
  • Will I be home every day during a project?
That depends on the project, the location, and your personal preferences. Some projects require staying away from home for several days, while others allow you to return home daily.
  • How long will I be away from home during a project?
For international projects, you typically work on-site for a continuous period. This is always discussed in advance and usually ranges from 2 to 4 weeks. After that, a colleague will take over.
  • What if I don’t want to travel abroad for a while?
That’s no problem. Planning is always done in consultation, and we take your wishes and personal situation into account.
  • Who arranges everything when I’m working abroad?
For international projects, we usually arrange your travel and accommodation. Everything is discussed and agreed upon in advance. If a project involves traveling between different locations, you may sometimes arrange accommodation yourself—always in consultation.
  • Do I need to speak English?
A good command of English is important. Within HuizingHarvest, we mostly communicate in English, and some colleagues do not speak Dutch. Other languages are a plus, but not required.
  • Are there opportunities to grow within HuizingHarvest?
Absolutely. If you want to develop further or take on more responsibility, we are happy to explore the possibilities with you.
